仅献给5年以来的Filefront.com以及Forgotten Hope Forum。

3月24日Filefront的所有者Ziff Davis宣布由于经济危机的影响，他决定关闭Filefront网站以及所有与其相关的论坛服务。所有这些服务的使用者被给定了一个所谓可以在其网站上下在资源的最后期限，3月3０日。

此举一下在游戏界中引起轩然大波。一直以来，Filefront作为游戏资料的library，以其优秀的文件管理搜索系统以及较快的下载速度（即使在国内单线程都能达到50kb/s），和完全无广告无注册的非营利性运营机制赢得了大多数玩家的支持。12年来，Filefront已经发展成为了一个拥有超过一百五十万份游戏资料，超过48TB资源，并且同时运行各大主流游戏第三方论坛的综合性游戏社区。

提到Filefront，就不得不提到Forgotten Hope Forum（以下简称FH）。可以说许多玩家接触Filefront就是从接触FH开始的。5年前，当Filefront还是一个名不见经传的小网站时（当时这种网站正是被FilePlanet(IGN旗下)或者Gamespy这样的财大气粗的公司的相同网站打压得最惨的时候），一个以战地1942为基础的历史真实性Mod出现了，这个Mod就是FH。(中间先小插一句：对于EA这个更是有钱的公司来说我是很不齿的，但是我一直很赞赏它能把战地系列做成Modable。新的1943先不做评论）面对这样一个比原版游戏还要大一半的mod，开发团队一时竟然找不到一个可以稳妥的服务器来搁置他们如此庞大的下载资源。考虑到FH的制作组也是非营利性的，租借服务器要大笔资金（他们到现在还只有一个很小的专题网站，其他资源都是放在别人那里，比如游戏视频放youtube等等），他们与Filefront一拍即合，移师其服务器，并建立了相关论坛。一时间拉去了不少游戏迷以及二战军迷。于是在随后的五年里，在FH的帮助下，Filefront成为游戏玩家家喻户晓的门户资源网站。

在这次变故中，受害最深的无疑就是Filefront中的FH用户了。为了保证FH及相关论坛的正常运作，Lightning老大带领论坛火速移师一个德国网站。对于这次突如其来的离别，老大写的很中肯：

Hello everyone,
As of yesterday evening, the entire FileFront forum and consequently also our Forgotten Hope forum were taken offline permanently, without warning. Due to the current economic recession, Ziff Davis, the owner of FileFront, has decided to indefinitely suspend all of FileFront and related sites. Unfortunately, this also includes bf1942files.com, on which the Forgotten Hope website is hosted. Whereas the forum is already gone, FileFront users are given until March 30th to download any files they may have hosted on the site.

This means that as of March 30th this website will go down. We are currently in the process of finding a new place for our website and forums, but until then we have created a blog, which you can find here. We will continue to keep you posted on the development of Forgotten Hope 2 on our new blog until we find a new place for our website.

If you have any questions, please visit our IRC channel and we will try our best to answer them. Please note though, that none of us was informed about this decision and we were not aware what happened until earlier this evening.

Forgotten Honor Italy Campaign! by: Lightning

Hello and welcome back,
After a few sleepless nights, we are now finally done moving all our content from FileFront to our new host warumdarum.de. Before we say anything else though, we would like to give a warm 'Thank you' to our long time supporter and owner of our new host Flüstertüte and AndyGr42, without whom such a speedy transition would not have been possible. They have been a great help, not only with our website and developer forum, but also with our brand new public forum.

We would also like to thank FileFront, for the past 5 years our reliable host. It is a real shame such a great community has so suddenly disappeared, but some of the old forum staff is already working on a new forum. We will of course keep you up to date on these events as we learn more.

Last but not least, we also want to thank all those in the Forgotten Hope community who have offered to host our website and forums. We have received dozens of offers and we really appreciate that so many people would want help us out so quickly.

FileFront Shutting Down! by: Lightning

这次ＦＨ跑得是快了些，随后的几天里，Filefront的创办者们宣布他们自己从Ziff Davis手中买回了Filefront，并且相关业务将继续运作。而我们再次登陆filefront的网站找ＦＨ的时候，发现原来那个界面早已不复存在了。

关于这次变故，Filefront似乎说的很轻松：

FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to suspend FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.

Due to the very unfortunate timing of this event and related announcements on March 24th and April 1st (April Fool's Day), we'd like to make it perfectly clear that:

1) 1) The March 24th announcement about FileFront suspending its operation was NOT an early April Fool's joke.

2) This announcement about the original founders buying back FileFront from Ziff Davis Media is also NOT an April Fool's joke.

3) We're making this announcement on April 1st because the deal was completed today and we want to bring all services back online immediately.

4) We would NEVER suspend FileFront as an April Fool's joke.

5) We are happy to be back!

FileFront has existed in one form or another (originally as FileLeech and Voodoo Extreme's downloads) since 1997. In the last 12 years, FileFront has become the gaming community's most comprehensive and trafficked library hosting millions of files for thousands of games while requiring no registration and providing uncapped download speeds. We look forward to improving FileFront and serving the gaming community for years to come.

只是没有了背后大公司的支持，以及ＦＨ的玩家群体，不知道Filefront还能够撑多久。

其实不仅仅是ＦＨ，ＦｉｌｅＦｒｏｎｔ这样的非营利性组织才会有这样的命运。营利性的机构照样有赔本垮台的一天，而且还总是发生在著名组织身上。前面就写过一篇日志来缅怀我们十几年前westwood的C&C（具体请点击这里）。然后，在3月26日，THQ宣布勇气传说已经送厂压制，4月6-8日上市的时候，江湖上又传出THQ不景气要倒闭的传闻。虽然英雄连的玩家在Filefront中也有论坛，但是他们基本没有受什么影响，毕竟他们官方的论坛在Relic那里，即便是Filefront和THQ都倒了也无所谓（因为Relic不像是那么容易就死的）。然而我们始终也不想在送走C&C以后再看着英雄连系列在勇气传说处画上句号。

于是，Lightning还在忙于两个论坛的管理工作：由于分家，弄得新老论坛上都是一片抱怨；THQ则希望在勇气传说中挽回市场：毕竟对于英雄连来说，上一个抵抗前线实在是急功近利敷衍市场的产物；而英雄连的玩家，则是摩拳擦掌等待勇气传说中传说中的新体验……

最后希望Filefront和FH Forum越办越好，也希望勇气传说能够成功。
